One of the most important international gatherings for the sugar industry since its founding in 2016, the 9th edition of the Dubai Sugar Conference 2025 will begin Monday in Dubai with over 900 specialists from 78 nations.
In light of climatic issues and protectionist policies between China and the United States of America, the conference, which takes place from February 10 to 13, will examine and analyse trends in the global sugar sector and trade.
Jacob Robbins of Emeterra, the biggest industrial buyer of sugar worldwide, and Jamal Al Ghurair, director of Al Khaleej Sugar Company, the biggest independent sugar refinery in the world, will be attending the conference. The international event will emphasise the necessity of creating adaptable visions for handling variations, fostering innovation, utilising technologies, introducing high-yield new products, embracing new business models, and acting as catalysts for industry-wide change. More than 60 speakers are expected to attend the conference and share their knowledge and insights with the audience. Discussions will explore global supply and demand opportunities and touch on important subjects like artificial intelligence, sugar, health, green products, and the creation of sustainable aviation fuel from sugar.
Diego Herrera, CEO of Pantaleon Group, will be this year’s keynote speaker. He will talk about how innovation and new technology are generating a variety of new items. In recognition of his contributions to Thailand’s sugar industry, Honorary Chairman of the Mitr Phol Group Sara Vongkusolkit will receive the Global Sugar Industry Lifetime Achievement Award.
