At a high-level business meeting in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Costa Rica reiterated their commitment to deepening trade and investment flows and growing economic connections under their historic Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Senior government officials, business executives, and trade representatives from both countries were present at the event, which was organised by Dubai Chambers in partnership with the Dubai-Costa Rica Business Council and the Costa Rican Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (PROCOMER).
It provided a forum for discussing the advantages of the CEPA, which was signed in 2024 as a component of the UAE’s larger foreign trade plan to strengthen economic ties with important international partners.
Along with important representatives from the public and business sectors of both nations, Manuel Tovar Rivera, the Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica, and Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, attended the conference.
Other prominent speakers included Julian Aguilar, Coordinator for Middle Eastern Affairs at the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Trade; Laura Lopez Salazar, CEO of PROCOMER; William Reuben-Soto, President of the Dubai-Costa Rica Business Council; Francisco Chacon, Costa Rica’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates; and Essa Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Essa Al Ghurair Investment.
