RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s industry minister visited some of the top Dutch manufacturing companies, strengthening ties between the two countries in the mining and industrial sectors.
While at the Philips Medical Devices facility in Eindhoven, Bandar Alkhorayef met with Edwin Paalvast, the company’s executive board member and head of international markets. The topics of discussion were localizing this important industry within Saudi Arabia and improving cooperation in the field of medical devices. The Saudi minister’s visit aimed to develop alliances and promote collaboration in a range of industrial domains between the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia.
Alkhorayef also visited FrieslandCampina, a leader in dairy products and their derivatives. Marchel Gorselink, general manager of research and development at FrieslandCampina, discussed establishing a research and development center in the Kingdom to improve local food processing and production quality.
The minister also met with David Haines, CEO of Upfield, to discuss collaboration in consumer goods and sustainable food production. They pooled their knowledge to support efforts for environmental sustainability and food security. They also discussed developing strategic partnerships in various sectors, including manufacturing, advanced technology, and renewable energy.
