According to the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Programme (Nafis), since the start of 2024, or in just five months, the number of private companies registered with it has increased by 28%.
With 3,728 companies joining since the start of 2024, there are currently 17,236 private companies registered with the program, which provides citizens with multiple jobs in various fields through its website. Initial business activity for the year was 13,508 companies.
By the relevant Cabinet Resolution, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) has urged private sector companies with 50 or more employees to meet their half-yearly Emiratization targets for 2024. These targets call for a 1% increase in the proportion of Emiratis employed in skilled jobs within these companies.
The Ministry has announced that it will begin monitoring companies’ compliance on July 1st, 2024, and has set June 30, 2024 as the final date for achieving Emiratization targets for the first half of 2024 (H1 2024).
The MoHRE applauded companies that have already met the necessary goals and emphasized the significance of enrolling UAE nationals in the Wage Protection System (WPS) and one of the authorized pension funds. The MoHRE also urged companies to keep up the growth in their Emiratization targets through June 30.
The Ministry has also urged businesses not meeting their Emiratization goals to take advantage of the Nafis platform, which contains information about competent Emirati citizens looking for work in various specializations and who meet the necessary skills.
