The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Finance Department of the Dubai Government announced the pilot launch of the Tabby payment facilitator service.
According to the RTA, the new service will enable users to pay the value of their electronic transactions in 4-month installments through smart kiosks. Users will also be able to pay for traffic fines, vehicle registration and licence renewal fees in installments.
The RTA’s main headquarters, customer satisfaction centres, service provider centres, and other locations throughout Dubai are among the more than 21 locations where the RTA has installed its smart booths.
According to the federal traffic code, stopping abruptly in the middle of the road while driving carries a Dhs1,000 punishment and six black points, according to Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouie, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police.
Noting that the driver should make sure the car is in good condition before leaving the house, Al Mazrouei cautioned against stopping in the middle of the road owing to a vehicle malfunction, running out of petrol, or a flat tire.
He stated that stopping in the middle of the road is one of the most dangerous infractions, resulting in significant collisions, fatalities, and severe injuries. He also added that an accident that occurs for this reason typically results in many victims.
