We recently had the opportunity to interview Seema Balwani, Associate Director at Xperience Realty, Dubai. With over 14 years of experience at P&G, Seema has worked on a wide range of assignments, honing her skills in the field of finance. After switching to the real estate sector, she blended her analytical side and her love for building meaningful connections, with a passion to empower people to find places that reflect who they are. Currently, as Associate Director at Xperience Realty, Seema Balwani brings her vision of helping people find a sense of belonging in Dubai, to reality.
What first inspired you to pursue your current professional path or industry?
Seema Balwani: Honestly, it happened quite organically. I’ve always been fascinated by spaces — how they make people feel, how they reflect who we are. Growing up in Dubai, I’ve watched the city transform from quiet neighborhoods into a global hub, and being part of that evolution has always inspired me.
Before real estate, I built a career in finance at P&G. I’ve always loved numbers, structure, and strategy. But I’ve also always loved people. In 2018, I decided to take a step back to focus on family and be a full-time mom. It was one of the most rewarding phases of my life, but by 2022, I realized I missed the intellectual challenge and human connection that come from building something of your own.
Real estate felt like the perfect intersection. It allowed me to bring together my analytical side and my love for meaningful connections. I didn’t just want to sell homes; I wanted to help people find a sense of belonging in a city that’s constantly evolving.
Can you share one major milestone or achievement that has been particularly meaningful in your career?
Seema Balwani: There’s one moment that stands out vividly. I had done my analysis and a client who was spending his retirement fund was going to invest in a well advertised project but one that didn’t have any legs. With my analysis and comaprisons, I was able to guide him to an alternative investment and today he is sitting on an asset that has doubled in value while the comparable asset that he was going to go for has been severely delayed with minimal appreciation. I remember him calling me and saying- “Seema if it werent for your honest approach and analysis, my funds would have not increased in value. Thank you!” This for me was exactly the reason why I love what I do. Analyse in detail and recommend with my honest opinion.
It was such a simple line, but it meant everything. I’d stepped into real estate after years in finance and a long break to focus on motherhood, and so much of that transition came with self-doubt. That moment made me realize I was exactly where I needed to be. For me, success shines brightest in moments like that; when genuine care, trust, and clarity come together to create something meaningful. It reaffirmed why I chose this path and what I want every client to experience: calm, confident, and honest.
What challenges have you faced along your professional journey, and how did you overcome them?
Seema Balwani: Real estate in Dubai moves fast. When I started, it was a very transactional space: flashy, competitive, and not always built on trust. As an experienced professional trying to carve out her space in that environment, it wasn’t easy. But I learned early on that authenticity stands out. I chose to build my practice around clarity, consistency, information, and genuine care. Instead of competing for attention, I focused on creating meaningful connections and delivering thoughtful advice while sticking to my principles of integrity and honesty.
Over time, that approach deeply resonated with clients who value transparency and thoughtful guidance, which has resulted in several landmark transactions grounded in trust and long-term relationships. What began as a challenge became one of my greatest strengths.
What are your current goals or future aspirations within your field?
Seema Balwani: My focus now is on deepening what I value most: clarity, trust, and perspective. I want to continue standing for transparency in a space that often feels cluttered with noise. For me, that means staying informed, drawing from data and experience, and using those insights to guide clients toward decisions that build generational wealth. I also see this next chapter as an opportunity to expand that impact.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to earn the trust of many clients, and I’d like to channel that trust into something meaningful: a dedicated fund for women. The idea is to create more opportunities where women can invest in real estate with confidence, grow their wealth, and become financially independent.
Real estate has given me both purpose and independence. I aspire to help more women experience that same sense of possibility.
