An airline has stated that unstable weather conditions may affect flight schedules out of Dubai International (DXB) airport. Flydubai recommended in a statement that travelers try to get to the airport four hours or more before their flight’s departure time.
Since late Monday afternoon, portions of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah have been battered by torrential rain and thunderstorms. The erratic weather is anticipated to get worse overnight.
According to Flydubai, efforts are being made to minimize interference with passengers’ travel plans. An airline spokeswoman said, “We will continue monitoring the weather conditions closely.”
The airline recommended customers to check the status of their flight on its website and to give themselves more time while traveling to the airport. As of Monday night, all Emirates Airline’s flights operate according to schedule. Several flights were delayed and canceled in Dubai last month due to excessive rain. Approximately thirteen inbound flights had to be diverted to other airports on March 9. Heavy rains and thunderstorms have lashed parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah since late afternoon.
