Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed extensive improvements to the internal roads and lighting in Al Qusais Industrial Areas 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The project included building 32 roads totaling 10 kilometers and installing street lights along those 43,000 meters. As a result, road capacity has tripled from 500 to 1,500 vehicles per hour in both directions, representing a 200 percent increase. Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, stated, “This internal roads project is by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the instructions of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. These directives call for upgrading residential and industrial infrastructure to support the emirate’s growing population and urbanization and foster well-being and happiness.
In Al Lisaili, around 7 km of road improvements have been completed. Lighting works have also been done on the existing roads in the Seih Al Salam near the Last Exit and Al Qudra Lakes, covering over 7 km. These enhancements benefit approximately 2,900 residents and improve the accessibility of the area’s entrances and exits.
