RIYADH: A partnership between the Ministry of Investment and Nowaar Entertainment is preparing Saudi Arabia to open several new amusement and aquatic parks. The first park is expected to open in Riyadh in 2025.
MISA and Nawaar Entertainment, in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority, inked a contract on Sunday to create entertainment and water parks around the nation. Riyadh will serve as the first location and is scheduled to open in 2025.
According to a senior official, Saudi Arabia’s entertainment industry has experienced exponential growth, with the number of companies rising to 4,000 from less than 10 since the start of Vision 2030.
On February 21 at the Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh, GEA CEO Faisal Bafarat disclosed that the industry has already created over 150,000 local jobs since the Kingdom started its economic diversification initiative in 2016.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, Bafarat stressed the need to encourage intense competition among different business sectors to introduce novel forms of entertainment, which are currently drawing more investment into the Kingdom.
Reports also mentioned the organization’s efforts to create entertainment options that cater to the varied needs of individuals from all walks of life in the Kingdom.
At the Seventh Ministerial Meeting of the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030, which took place in Riyadh in December 2023, MISA signed a number of agreements with Japan.
