The President, His Excellency Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed a range of topics related to the relationship between the United Arab Emirates and the European Union, including its member states.
The conversation centred on how to deepen and broaden these connections to promote growth and prosperity while serving the interests of all parties involved.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed welcomed Michel to the meeting, which was held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. He also emphasised the close ties between the UAE and the EU and the continued commitment to fortifying these ties to support their shared objectives and advance peace and development on a regional and worldwide scale.
The forthcoming Gulf Cooperation Council-European Union summit, set for October in Brussels, was also discussed during the meeting. Michel and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed emphasised the importance of this summit in fostering progress in the coming years and advancing relations, particularly in the areas of development and the economy.
The President of the European Council and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed discussed many regional and global issues that both of them found important, especially the developments taking place in the Middle East.
