Emirates has teamed up with Etihad Clean Energy Development to launch a large-scale solar energy project at the Emirates Engineering Centre in Dubai.
The signing ceremony was held at the World Green Economy Summit 2024 in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, as well as Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
The project covers the development, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at Emirates Engineering Centre, as well as 20 years of operation and maintenance support.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum stated, “This effort demonstrates Emirates’ dedication and ongoing investment in renewable energy solutions as part of our sustainability plan. By incorporating solar energy into the Emirates Engineering Centre, we are dramatically lowering our carbon footprint and helping the UAE’s clean energy objectives. We are thrilled to collaborate with Etihad Clean Energy Development on this solar PV project, which adds another milestone in our sustainability journey and considerably boosts the number of solar systems at our sites.
