The second meeting of the UAE-Finland Joint Committee was held in Helsinki on November 22 as part of a larger UAE trade mission to Finland.
Jarno Syrjälä, Finland’s Deputy Minister for International Trade, and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their intention to establish bilateral relations and investigate new avenues for collaboration in various areas, such as trade and investment, food and water security, education, digitalization and artificial intelligence, space, and logistics and transportation.
Senior officials from both sides of the UAE-Finland Business Council attended the inaugural session of the council, which was inaugurated by Al Hajeri on the sidelines of the Joint Committee.
Al Hajeri emphasized how both nations’ private sectors are adaptable, which will help to advance and quicken bilateral investment and trade relations.
A bilateral discussion between Al Hajeri and Wille Rydman, Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs, marked the end of the tour. The main goal of the meeting was to discuss methods to strengthen trade and investment relations between the two nations.
