Foreign Ministers from the G7 Disagree with a “Full Scale Military Operation in Rafah.”

The foreign ministers of the Council of Seven stated on Friday that they were against Israel conducting a “full-scale military operation in Rafah” because they believed it would have “catastrophic consequences on the civilian population.”
The “not acceptable number of civilians” murdered in Gaza during Israel’s military offensive was also denounced by ministers from Italy, the UK, the US, France, Germany, Japan, and Canada.

In its battle with Hamas, Israel has promised to send soldiers into the densely populated Rafah sector of Gaza.

“We reiterate our firm opposition to a full scale military operation in Rafah that would have devastating effects on the human population,” the ministers stated in a press release. Global resistance against Israel’s ongoing war, which has left much of Gaza in ashes and its 2.4 million residents suffering under Israeli siege.

We implore all parties to take action to stop further escalation in the wake of allegations of strikes on April 19. The Group of Seven industrialized nations stated that they will keep working toward this goal.
France, Germany, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, and their ministers all declared that they “demand that Iran and its affiliated groups cease their attacks.” “After a meeting on the Italian island of Capri, we will hold the Iranian government accountable for its malicious and destabilizing actions.
