By the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and as part of the festivities for the 53rd Eid Al Etihad, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, presented five Emiratis with Space Medals in front of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and the Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. This was done in acknowledgement of their exceptional contributions to the advancement of the UAE’s space industry and to strengthen the country’s position as a leading spacefaring nation.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, attended the awards ceremony at Zaabeel Palace in Dubai.
Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, and Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, were also in attendance, along with several other dignitaries and high-ranking officials.
