Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and EDF Group has reached a deal to install a 3MWp rooftop solar PV plant for AJ Steel Pipes, a prominent steel pipe manufacturer and exporter in the United Arab Emirates.
A priority for reaching a carbon-neutral future at COP28 is the decarbonization of “hard-to-abate” industries. Steel companies like AJ Steel Pipes are looking to use effective, carbon-free solutions that combine innovation and technology to achieve a more sustainable operation.
“The development of this project will enable AJ Steel Pipes to lower energy costs and reduce its carbon footprint while supporting the UAE’s goals to diversify its energy mix,” stated Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerge. Emerge has rapidly grown its portfolio since its founding a few years ago, showcasing to clients our company’s value as an energy services provider. We are thrilled to have AJ Steel Pipes as a client and look forward to collaborating with its team to help the business achieve its decarbonization objectives.
Masdar and EDF Group formed Emerge in 2021 to develop distributed solar, energy storage, and hybrid solutions for commercial and industrial applications. Emerge is an energy services provider that charges no upfront fees for complete turnkey solar power agreements for its customers.
