The UAE Journalists Association Declares its Backing for the Campaign Against Online Trolling

The National Media Office (NMO) Chairman, Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Bin Butti Al Hamed, has launched an anti-online-trolling campaign, which has the backing of the UAE Journalists Association (UAEJA).

This project is a part of the partnership between the NMO and the UAEJA to uphold national values, advance professional standards, and fight online trolls—also known as “electronic flies,” a term that characterises one of the most serious contemporary problems.

This time, the UAE Journalists Association’s chairperson, Fadila Abdullah Al Muaini, announced that the organisation is attempting to collaborate and interact with media organisations in order to support the country’s campaign against online trolling.

Al Muaini emphasised that the association’s primary goal is to increase public awareness of these issues among citizens and social media users through a variety of year-round programs and events.

She stated that in order to give young journalists and social media users the tools they need to confront harmful ideas and counteract false values that are spreading on social media and preserve social peace and security in the country, the association is currently hosting a number of training courses.
