UAE-Based Ford SUVs are not Impacted by the Worldwide Recall

The global recall of thousands of compact SUVs to inspect fuel injectors does not apply to Ford SUVs in the United Arab Emirates, a Ford Middle East representative confirmed to the Times on Friday.

Ford declared on Thursday that it was recalling roughly 43,000 compact SUVs due to an increased risk of gasoline leaks from the fuel injectors, which could cause an engine fire.

The head of communications for Ford Middle East, Rasha Ghanem, stated that this recall is not occurring in her area. “The only impacted vehicles, totaling 83, are located in Tunisia.”

“We haven’t given any orders to pull over or park outside. We’ll offer a more extended warranty period. When we get in touch with customers in early June, the specifics of this initiative will be made public, Ghanem continued.

Ford had earlier stated that fixing fuel leaks would not be part of the recall remedy. Dealers will install a tube to allow gasoline to escape from heated surfaces and flow to the ground beneath the car. They will also update the engine control software to identify a decline in fuel injection system pressure.

“The software will cut temperatures in the engine compartment, disable the high-pressure fuel pump, and reduce engine power if that happens.
