The UAE’s dedication to being prepared for the future and collaborating with international partners to create a better future for everybody was reaffirmed by Ohood Bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future.
Al Roumi emphasised the importance of being proactive in navigating a world that is changing quickly by saying, “The only time to create the future is the present moment.” “Our nations may face comparable or dissimilar obstacles, but we all aim to leave a prosperous, safe, and sustainable world for future generations.
As part of a series of field visits that take participants around different government agencies and national projects to learn about the UAE’s best practices and success in various strategic sectors, Al Roumi met with participants in the 2nd Global Government Leaders Programme (GGLP) during this session.
Al Roumi outlined the UAE’s proactive strategy for future readiness, dating it back to the country’s founding. She gave examples, including the groundbreaking efforts of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, to green the desert decades before sustainability became a major worldwide issue.
