IndiGo, India’s largest airline, said on Wednesday that it has experienced delays and cancellations in recent days owing to technology challenges, airport congestion, and operational requirements.
According to two airport sources, around 40 IndiGo flights have been cancelled in Delhi as of Wednesday. According to Indian media reports, Indigo flight disruptions occurred at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai airports.
Indigo sent a statement to the press on Wednesday, explaining the inconveniences. The airline began by acknowledging the extensive delays and cancellations and apologising to the affected passengers.
A multitude of unforeseen operational issues including slight technology glitches, modification of schedules linked to the winter season, adverse weather conditions, higher congestion in the aviation system and the implementation of updated crew rostering rules (Flight Duty Time Limitations) had a negative compounding effect on our operations in a way that was not have been anticipated,” the company explained.
