Lindsay Clancy’s former mother-in-law testified on Tuesday that her mental health deteriorated after the birth of her youngest son, stating that she was “begging for help” prior to killing her three children.She had insomnia. She was losing her appetite,” Susan Clancy, her mother-in-law, testified during the murder trial. “She was very anxious and sad.”
Clancy’s lawyers claim she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the crimes, despite the fact that she does not deny committing them. Prosecutors claimed she made a deliberate decision to kill her children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and Callan, eight months.
When asked by a defence attorney if Lindsay Clancy was “interested at all times in trying to get better and see doctors,” Susan Clancy replied, “Very much so.””She was begging for help,” she recalled of her mother, whom she characterized as “very nurturing, very loving. After three weeks of testimony from dozens of witnesses, prosecutors rested their case on Monday. The defence then began to illustrate their points using personal anecdotes from family members.
