During the last ten days of Ramadan, there is a significant rise in air traffic between the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia due to increasing requests from those who seek to undertake Umrah ceremonies.
Approximately 383 weekly flights, up from approximately 338 weekly flights in February, were operated between the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in March, the start of Ramadan, according to statistics released by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This represents a 13.3% increase in traffic.
Meanwhile, Air Arabia’s weekly flight schedule included stops at Abha, Al Jowf, Dammam, Qassim, Hail, Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Taif, Yanbu, and Tabuk.
From March 11 to April 7, Etihad Airways successfully flew almost 45,000 passengers to their destinations in Saudi Arabia during Ramadan and the Umrah season.
Among Etihad Airways‘ destinations in Saudi Arabia, the airline emphasized Jeddah as the most popular choice for tourists during Ramadan. Flights to Jeddah achieved a passenger occupancy rate surpassing 95%, indicating great demand and efficient operation. As of March 15, Etihad Airways has permanently increased its services to Jeddah and Riyadh. The airline now operates 77 weekly flights, with 28 flights to Jeddah, 28 to Riyadh, and 21 to Dammam.
