Etihad Airways declared that it had carried 12 million passengers, a 36% rise from the year before. According to the airline’s traffic statistics, the rolling 12-month passenger count for August 2024 exceeded 17 million, nearly 70% more than for the entire year 2022.
With 1.7 million passengers carried and an average passenger load factor of 89% in August, the airline demonstrated exceptional performance during the summer travel season.
“Our passenger numbers in August increased significantly compared to the same period last year, demonstrating our continued growth momentum,” stated Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.
For August 2024, we increased our capacity relative to 2023 while still maintaining a strong passenger load factor of 89%. This strong showing highlights how Etihad is becoming more and more popular among travellers, especially during the holidays.
Compared to 79 aircraft during the same period last year, Etihad’s operating fleet has increased to 95, he continued. In addition to continuously delivering a load factor above 86%, the company’s ambition and dedication have resulted in the increase of 16 new aircraft over the last 12 months.
Two of the six A321neos anticipated to be delivered in 2024 were put into service in August. Compared to the same period last year, we are currently flying to ten more passenger destinations.
