In reaction to CNN, Politico, and MS NOW being excluded from the White House, major US television networks halted their combined coverage of President Donald Trump on Monday. On Friday, Trump declared the ban, accusing the groups of writing “fiction or lies” about his administration. On Saturday, the corporations claimed that their reporters were not allowed to enter the building. Since then, the three US media outlets have declared their intention to “defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports” by suing the Trump administration.
Trump TV, the White House’s own streaming channel, debuted shortly after and features videos of the president around-the-clock. A number of other US media sites have also said that they will not cover pooled events. The Washington Post and New York Times, for example, have stated that they will not post still photos from Trump rallies on Monday. As a result, there was no network TV video of Trump travelling to New York to attend the UN general assembly or boarding Air Force One. Additionally, Trump participated in the White House South Lawn ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Marine One helipad. Although the White House website streamed the event, his remarks could not be heard.
