As he campaigned for Democrats ahead of the US midterm elections, former President Barack Obama criticised the Trump administration over the Iran War and high consumer costs. Obama told Ohio audiences on Saturday, “This election is our last best chance to at least rein in some of the foolishness of this administration. At a rally in Georgia, US President Donald Trump declared that “we’re in the golden age of America” while praising the immigration and tariff policies of his government.
The party that controls Congress for the remainder of Trump’s term will be determined by the midterm elections on November 3, which will make it easier for the president to carry out his goals. Trump and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, cast their ballots in Florida on Saturday, marking the start of early voting.
Obama criticised Trump and his cabinet members during his speeches in Ohio and Michigan on Saturday. He even made fun of the president’s attempt to refurbish the White House. In Cleveland, the former president said, “You get a chance to say, ‘enough is enough,’ after two years of chaos, cruelty, corruption, and incompetence, the likes of which we have not seen in the modern era.”
Obama expressed sympathy for voters who rejected Democrats in 2024 due to worries about inflation and the economy after the Covid epidemic. However, he claimed that Trump was solely to blame for the current economic situation.
