Laura, the wife of Russell Brand, described her husband as “caring, kind and a wonderful father to our children” in court. During his rape and sexual assault trial, the 39-year-old told the jury that “the way he treats me is to know me” and that “I feel very seen by him… I love him very much.” Three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one act of attempted indecent assault are among the seven charges against the media celebrity. He has entered a not guilty plea and rejects all of the accusations.
When the defence attorney asked Laura Brand, who was testifying at Southwark Crown Court in London on Thursday, if her husband respected her when she refused to have sex with him, she said, “Yes absolutely.” Laura Brand is the sister of TV host Kirsty Gallacher and the daughter of former golfer Bernard Gallacher. In 2017, she wed Brand, and the two of them have three kids. She told the court that she had met him at the 2006 Edinburgh festival, that he had taken her number, and that they had quickly begun dating. “I went over and said, ‘I’m Laura, Kirsty’s sister,'” she remarked following his performance. It was a fantastic show.
