During a visit to Beijing on Tuesday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez reaffirmed China’s role as a major participant in world stability and the pursuit of Middle Eastern peace, while also unveiling 19 bilateral agreements to deepen commercial connections between the two nations.
Following his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Sánchez acknowledged the commencement of a “strategic dialogue” with Beijing, emphasizing that China should view Spain and Europe as “partners” for investment and cooperation.
A dozen of the announced agreements are economic in nature and aim to improve bilateral trade relations. During the press conference, Sánchez did not comment on Judge Juan Carlos Peinado’s decision to prosecute his wife Begoña Gómez for alleged influence peddling, corruption, embezzlement, and misappropriation.As I have always stated, the only thing I want of justice is that it do justice. Justice demands that justice be done. And, as I believe that time will put everything and everyone in their proper position, when questioned about the situation, Sánchez replied. “I don’t have to say any more.
