Amid increased tensions in the area, the Indian Embassy in Israel issued a warning for Indian citizens on Friday. The official handle @indemtel posted on social media platform X, saying: “Given the current state of affairs in the area, Indian citizens in Israel are encouraged to remain alert and follow the safety instructions provided by the Israeli government and home front command (https://oref.org.il/eng).” Please use care, remain near safety shelters, and refrain from making needless trips nationwide. As the events unfolded, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz reportedly acknowledged the strike and proclaimed a national emergency, according to The Times of Israel.
Katz was reported by The Times of Israel as stating, “A missile and drone attack against the State of Israel and its civilian population is expected in the immediate future following the State of Israel’s preemptive strike against Iran.”
Katz said that he had issued “a special order, according to which a special state of emergency will be imposed in the home front throughout the entire State of Israel.” According to The Times of Israel, Katz said, “You have to stay in the protected areas and follow the orders of the Home Front Command and the authorities.
