The Kremlin Claims that Putin Has been Invited to join Trump’s Board of Peace for Gaza

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join US President Donald Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace”, a body intended to oversee the reconstruction of Gaza, the Kremlin said on Monday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the invitation was received through diplomatic channels and is now under review. He said Moscow is seeking further details from Washington before making a decision.

Later on Monday, Belarus’ foreign ministry confirmed that President Alexander Lukashenko had also been invited to join the board. In a statement, the ministry said Minsk welcomed the invitation and appreciated being recognised as a country prepared to contribute to long-term peace and post-war reconstruction.

Lukashenko, a close ally of Putin, has long faced criticism from Western governments and has often been described as Europe’s last dictator.

The board, which would be chaired by Trump, forms part of a United Nations-backed US plan aimed at demilitarising and rebuilding Gaza after two years of war between Israel and the Hamas militant group.
