Billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates has stated her ex-husband, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, being identified in new files pertaining to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein dredged up “painful times in my marriage”.
She expressed “unbelievable sadness” on an NPR program, stating that “whatever questions remain” have to be addressed by the people listed in the records, including her ex-husband.I am so pleased to be away from all the mud, she added. In 2021, the couple divorced. Records disclosed by the US justice department include an accusation by Epstein that Bill Gates contracted a sexually transmitted disease. Gates’s spokeswoman has termed the claim “absolutely absurd”.
None of Epstein’s victims have accused Bill Gates of any misconduct, and the fact that his name appears in the files does not suggest any criminal action. The billionaire has broken his silence on the release of papers by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) in an interview with 9News in Australia. He maintained the interactions with Epstein were restricted to dinners and that he did not visit Epstein’s island. “Every minute I spent with him I regret and I apologise that I did it,” Gates added.
