In order to offer free medical care to underprivileged communities in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, and Kalaburagi, Karnataka, Aster Volunteers, the global CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) division of Aster DM Healthcare, opened two IoT-enhanced Mobile Medical Clinics with Tele-Medicine Services. This brings the total number of Aster Volunteers’ mobile clinics to 50.
In the presence of TJ Wilson, Executive Director & Group corporate governance, Aster DM Healthcare Ltd., Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, and Anoop Moopen, Director of Aster DM Healthcare Ltd., the Hon. Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, flagged off the units. The volunteer is Prabal Pratap Singh Tomar, the Delhi President of Mixed Martial Arts and Vice President of the Indian Lawn Tennis Association.
The launch is a significant milestone in an ongoing project by Aster Volunteers that aims to increase underserved populations’ access to healthcare in North India and beyond. With their IoT-integrated telemedicine services, a patient waiting area and registration desk, a vital data collection desk, a basic mini lab with refrigerated storage, a safe medication storage and dispensing facility, a consultation room for general practitioners, specialists, and super-specialists, a large TV for health education and awareness programs, and an expandable awning for outdoor shade, the new mobile units are custom-built on an Ashok Leyland Mitr chassis that is seven meters long.
