The 13th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) and held from September 4–5, 2024, at the Expo Centre Sharjah, featured a significant presence from the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa). Sheraa’s involvement was emphasised by a number of significant sessions that illustrated its continued support of sustainable development and economic innovation.
These workshops illustrated the value of community and communication while reflecting Sheraa’s strategic role as a prominent hub supporting a thriving and encouraging ecosystem for startups and entrepreneurs.
AgriTech and sustainable development: On the first day of the forum, Sheraa arranged an insightful discussion titled “From Food Security to Sustainable Development: Modern Innovations in AgriTech,” which included Said Ghanem Saeed Matar Al Suwaidi, CEO and Founder of Innovation Box L.L.C., and Mariam Aljenaibi, Head of the Innovation and Future Foresight Centre at Sharjah Agriculture and Livestock Department. The discussion focused on how digital communication and innovations like drones, smart irrigation systems, and environmental sensors have increased agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability. It also examined the effects of technological innovation in the agricultural sector.
