Dubai residents may soon be able to travel the length and breadth of the city in self-propelled electric pods that float gently above the ground.
The innovative Floc Duo rail was one of the technologies on display at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) stand at the Gitex Global 2024 exhibition, which opened in Dubai on Monday. A video of the train network demonstrates how the pods will take customers to their doorstep.
Once it is created in the factory, they may simply construct it on the ground in the city. There is no need to create specialised infrastructure for it. Currently, it is a prototype that we are testing with the company. When it is mature enough, we will be able to apply it in Dubai.
Earlier this month, Dubai approved a 65-kilometer suspended transport system connecting Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khor, and Zabeel. The announcement by Dubai’s Executive Council was part of a number of new strategies aimed at strengthening Dubai’s leadership in a variety of areas over the coming decade. The Floc Duo rail can operate on highways, tunnels and elevated rails, making it extremely versatile depending on transportation requirements.
