A strong economy, international investments, and initial public offerings (IPOs) propelled the UAE’s stock markets’ notable expansion in 2024. The market capitalization and trade volumes of the Dubai Financial Market and the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange experienced notable surges. The UAE’s standing as the region’s top investment destination was cemented by this expansion. The combined market capitalization of the stock markets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi was over Dhs3.905 trillion by the end of 2024, up from Dhs3.648 trillion at the end of 2023.
This performance strengthened the local markets’ momentum from prior years, solidifying their standing as one of the world’s and the region’s most popular investment locations. They ended 2024 with a remarkable growth of around Dhs257 billion.
At the end of 2024, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) market capitalisation was Dhs2.998 trillion, up from Dhs2.961 trillion at the end of 2023. Additionally, the market capitalization of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) increased from Dhs687.5 billion at the end of 2024 to Dhs906.912 billion at the end of 2024. With Dhs342.4 billion on the ADX and Dhs106.7 billion on the DFM, the local markets brought in over Dhs449 billion in trade value in 2024.
