The United States’ Arizona State University (ASU) and Khalifa University of Science and Technology jointly announced the opening of the first dual Master of Science program in the United Arab Emirates. The program’s primary curriculum focuses on integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into higher education.
The agreement between the two universities states that students will receive a Master of Science degree in Engineering Systems and Management with a focus on Technology Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from Khalifa University and a Master of Science degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from ASU, which is taught by faculty from the W. P. Carey School of Business and Herberger Institute of Design and Arts.
The deep-tech incubator Khalifa Innovation Center (KIC) and Khalifa University Enterprises Company (KUEC), the university’s business and investment arm, will support the Khalifa University-ASU relationship. These two organizations will assist students who want to create their businesses after completing the dual degree program, emphasising the commercialization of scientific research.
We are excited to work with Arizona State University on this unique dual Master of Science program, which will give Khalifa University students a studio-based academic and immersive international experience that will culminate in a pitching competition to investors, stated Dr. Bayan Sharif, Provost of Khalifa University.
