Asaad Al Shibani, the Syrian Transitional Government’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, was met on Monday by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister. Sheikh Abdullah greeted Shibani and his delegation during the meeting.
In areas of shared interest, the two leading diplomats talked about strengthening the close, fraternal ties between the two nations and their citizens. In addition to discussing a number of topics of shared interest, they also went over the general developments in Syria and the state of affairs in the region.
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s unwavering support for Syria’s independence and sovereignty over its whole territory. Additionally, he reaffirmed the UAE’s support for all regional and global initiatives that aim to realize the Syrian people’s dreams of security, peace, stability, and a life of dignity. For the Syrian people to create a future of prosperity, advancement, and development, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the significance of guaranteeing all essential elements for security and stability.
Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohammed Bin Mubarak Fadel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, and UAE Ambassador to Syria Hassan Ahmed Al Shehhi were among those present at the meeting.
