Industry leaders and well-known business owners from the People’s Republic of China were brought together for a business roundtable recently organized by the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah).
The focus of the event, which was attended by Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), and Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR), was enhancing investment and cooperation in important sectors. The advanced investment climate in Sharjah and the exciting prospects arising from its growth in vital and innovative industries were the focal points of discussion.
The DGR-led Sharjah delegation, which included representatives from eighteen entities and institutions, included the roundtable as a major component of their larger visit to China. The talks focused on how to work together in the future and match investments to Sharjah’s fastest-growing industry to increase GDP contribution.
Participants looked into possible partnerships in research and development to support Sharjah’s various development initiatives and projects involving green energy technologies to improve sustainability efforts in Sharjah and the UAE.
Speakers from the following industries participated in the engagements with the Chinese business community: Agri-food Technology, greentech, Human Capital and innovation, Mobility and logistics, Health and Well-Being, and Culture and tourism. These talks highlighted Sharjah’s sectoral diversity, which facilitates both domestic and foreign investment opportunities and strategic capital allocation.
