His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved a new master plan for Expo City Dubai in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of Dubai’s Executive Council. The revised strategy emphasises Expo City Dubai’s role in driving Dubai’s future growth and elevating the emirate’s worldwide profile. Expo City Dubai, the site of the historic 2020 World Expo and COP28, will be a driving force behind the emirate’s success in a variety of sectors.
Expo City Dubai’s development ambitions solidify its position as the lynchpin of Dubai’s growth, providing considerable investment opportunities for forward-thinking businesses. Its closeness to Al Maktoum International Airport, Jebel Ali Port, and the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) places it as a key enabler of Dubai’s economic ambitions in essential areas such as trade and logistics, technology and innovation, tourism, business, and events.
The plans are critical to meeting the goals of the 2040 Dubai Urban Master Plan, which includes Expo City as one of five important urban centres, and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to quadruple the emirate’s economy by 2033.
