According to the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the emirate’s business community and its counterpart in Nepal have been discussing ways to improve trade and investment cooperation.
The talks underscored the UAE companies’ dedication to diversifying their investments and showcased prospects for private sector strategic alliances with Nepali firms, capitalising on the strong connections between the two nations to open up fresh business avenues.
Tej Bahadur, the Nepali ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, and Sheikh Majid Faisal Khalid Al Qasemi, the first vice chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met and discussed the issue.
The meeting, which took place at the SCCI headquarters in Sharjah, was attended by important representatives from both sides as well as Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, the organization’s director general, and Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, assistant director-general for the organization’s communication and business sector.
The meeting discussed the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote closer commercial relations between Nepal’s private sectors and the United Arab Emirates.
Aiming to promote common economic goals, the MoU would increase exports from various industries, including trade, handicrafts, gold, and agriculture. Additionally, the action is anticipated to support sustainable development and increase food security in both countries.
