Suhail Bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasised the UAE’s leadership in clean and renewable energy, as well as its critical role in balancing global energy markets and fostering sustainable development through major domestic energy investments.
He stated that the UAE’s energy strategy prioritises a balanced approach that includes both traditional and renewable energy sources, a pillar of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the National Hydrogen Strategy 2050.
In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Al Mazrouei reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast commitment to attaining its Net Zero 2050 Strategy through ambitious renewable energy projects. He emphasised the country’s ongoing efforts to maintain a sustainable and diverse energy industry, which promotes long-term growth and innovation.
Al Mazrouei discussed the extension of electric car infrastructure and implementing a national policy to encourage the use of electric and hybrid vehicles. This program contains a planned pricing mechanism for rapid and regular charging services, encouraging investment in the necessary infrastructure. Al Mazrouei also highlighted the UAE’s outstanding performance in global energy competitiveness metrics. Under the leadership’s guidance, the UAE achieved top ranks in seven essential metrics.
