The ‘Biggest Aircraft Deal’ in Saudi Arabian History will see Saudia Purchase 105 Airbus Aircraft.

The largest aircraft purchase in Saudi Arabian history, the Saudia Group, will purchase 105 Airbus aircraft, the company announced on Monday. According to a statement, flyadeal, a low-cost subsidiary of Saudia airline, will purchase 12 A320neo and 39 A321neo aircraft, while the former will receive 54 A321neo aircraft.

A different statement from the Future Aviation Forum, the conference in the Saudi capital of Riyadh where the deal was announced, states that the deal is valued at $19 billion.

According to a Saudi Arabian statement, “This historic agreement, which includes 105 confirmed aircraft, represents a significant moment not only for the Saudi aviation industry but also for the wider MENA region.”

More than a year after the launch of new airline Riyadh Air, Saudi Airlines has made another investment with this purchase, dubbed “the largest aircraft deal in Saudi aviation history”.

The authorities have also revealed plans to build a sizable new airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with a capacity for 120 million passengers annually.

Mohammed Alkhuraisi, vice president of strategy at the Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation, also announced a “massive expansion” of the airport in Jeddah, the home of Saudia.
