In collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Arab Emirates has carried out the 23rd evacuation flight as part of a humanitarian effort to transport 55 critically injured individuals and patients from the Gaza Strip, including children and cancer patients requiring intensive care, from Israel’s Ramon airport via the Karam Abu Salam crossing to receive medical care in the nation’s hospitals. 72 family members will accompany the flight.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, announced in October 2023 that 1,000 children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip would get medical care in UAE facilities, including the evacuation of the injured Palestinians and cancer patients.
This initiative confirms the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip during the current terrible circumstances and highlights the critical need for humanitarian intervention to save lives. The humanitarian efforts to aid the Gazan people and provide a helping hand during their hour of need are still made possible by the UAE’s numerous contact channels.
The UAE has made a concerted effort to give Palestinians who are ill or seriously injured access to cutting-edge medical care. The UAE field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip has handled 50,489 cases since it opened on December 2, 2023. Additionally, the hospital floating ship docked in Al Arish Port has treated 8,597 cases since its inception in February 2024.
