UAE Court orders Man to Pay Dhs41,000 for Fraudulent Bid

The victim gave him the money after he obtained it fraudulently by posing as someone else and convincing him that he could bring domestic workers for him. The Al Ain Court of First Instance ordered the person to return Dhs31,000 and fined him Dhs10,000. The defendant allegedly refused to return the money when the victim demanded it.

According to the facts, one person sued another, asking that he be ordered to pay Dhs31,000, Dhs20,000 for the damages he suffered, and Dhs5 million in legal interest per year from the date of the lawsuit until full payment, in addition to fees and expenses and legal fees.

According to the plaintiff, the suspect took Dhs31,000 from him after tricking him into thinking he could hire domestic help, which forced him to give up the money. According to reports, the culprit was found guilty in a criminal case.

The suspect failed to prove to the court that the plaintiff did not owe him the sum, the court explained, and he did not attend in court to defend himself, either in person or through a representative. As a result, the court mandated that he reimburse the plaintiff for all of the damages and pay Dhs 10,000 in compensation.
