Two Australians are accused of entering on a scooter and opening fire, while another Australian is suspected of aiding and abetting the crime, according to Indonesian police looking into the deadly shooting of an Australian tourist at a villa on the resort island of Bali on Thursday.
Just after midnight on June 13, 32-year-old Melbourne resident Zivan Radmanovic was murdered in a home close to Munggu Beach in Bali’s Badung district. The attack left a second man, a Melbourne native, 34, battered.
At a press conference on Thursday, police provided further information on an investigation they claimed was backed by the Australian Federal Police, in addition to their earlier announcement that they had detained three Australian individuals.
At a news conference in Badung, Bali Police Chief Daniel Adityajaya stated that two suspects, known by their initials as MC and PT, were the shooters, based on the crime scene investigation and surveillance footage.
According to Adityajaya, the third suspect, DJF, assisted the others by purchasing a hammer that was used to smash down the villa door, hiring two automobiles and three motorbikes, and buying tickets for buses and ferries to leave the island.
With the assistance of Interpol, two of the suspects were apprehended in Singapore and Cambodia and returned to Indonesia after one was apprehended on June 16 at Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
