Following Trump’s Demand, Coca-Cola will Launch Cane Sugar Coke in the US

The massive American soft drink company Coca-Cola has announced that it will add a new Coke sweetened with cane sugar to its current lineup, a move that President Donald Trump hinted at last week.

In many places of the world, the firm already uses ordinary sugar to sweeten its famous Coke drink, but for decades, it has used chiefly corn syrup, a less expensive substitute, in the US. Although experts say there are no compelling nutritional arguments in favor of one sweetener over another, Trump’s Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has expressed concern about the health risks associated with corn syrup.

“You’ll see that this is a pretty smart move on their part. It’s simply superior. Last week, Trump posted on social media. The company stated Tuesday that it will “launch an offering made with US cane sugar” in the fall in its quarterly presentation to investors.

According to the company, the new product would “complement” its current lineup, giving customers additional options. When questioned about the choice, manager James Quincey stated, “We are definitely looking to use the whole tool… kit of available sweetening options to some extent where there are consumer preferences.” He pointed out that the company already used cane sugar in a number of US brands, such as vitamin water, coffee, and lemonade.
