Surrey Police Are Studying Child Sex Abuse Accusations Following Epstein’s Return

Surrey Police says it is looking into two distinct complaints of “non-recent child sexual abuse” in the wake of the US publication of papers relating to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. According to the police, one of the incidents occurred in Surrey and Berkshire between the mid-1990s and 2000. The other dates back to the mid to late 1980s in West Surrey. There have been no arrests, it added.

According to the force, “all reports of sexual offending seriously and will work to identify any reasonable lines of enquiry to verify information or establish corroborating evidence”. Surrey Police announced in February that they were looking for information on an accusation of human trafficking and sexual assault from the mid-1990s.

The statement, dated February 18, 2026, noted that there was no evidence that the Surrey-related allegations had been referred to Surrey Police. Epstein died in a New York jail cell on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking allegations. It occurred more than a decade after the billionaire was convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor and registered as a sex offender. The US Department of Justice has published more than 3.5 million pages of records relating to the late sex offender.
