Ukraine attacked another Wildberries facility in Russia’s Vladimir area on Monday, the third strike in two weeks on the e-commerce giant’s logistics network, as Kiev targeted what it claims is a critical supply chain for Russian military drone components.
Local residents tweeted photographs and videos on social media depicting thick black smoke billowing from the e-commerce facility. Drones were also spotted flying overhead prior to the incident.
In a Telegram post, Wildberries’ press department acknowledged that a fire had broken out at the facility and initially stated that no one had been injured. Governor of the Vladimir area, Alexander Avdeyev, later reported that two persons were hurt in the attack.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that warehouses targeted by Ukrainian drones were supplying Russian forces with drone components, navigation systems, and other military supplies.
The e-commerce marketplace offers a variety of military goods, such as drone components and body armor. However, its significance to Russia’s wartime economy extends beyond this.
