Today, every cab in the fleet of Ajman is 100% eco-friendly. There are already 2,274 eco-friendly cabs in the fleet, and they have driven more than 8.5 million miles. These cars come in a variety of petrol, electric, and hybrid types, all of which are meant to cut down on carbon emissions and fuel usage.
The transport authority’s noteworthy achievement fits into the larger picture of its dedication to sustainability and environmental preservation.Omar Mohammed Lootah, the Director General of the Ajman Transport Authority, stated that the aim was accomplished ahead of schedule in part because of consistent efforts and carefully considered planning. In order to entice cab operators to participate in this effort, he continued, the administration offered them every kind of help.
When hybrid cars first appeared on the emirate’s taxi market in 2015, the authority was a trailblazer in the development of contemporary green technologies. Tax businesses promoted and supported the usage of eco-friendly cars. The transport authority included electric cars, which have shown their value in the transportation industry, to the emirate’s taxi fleet in 2022.
