Dubai is taking steps to improve traffic efficiency and facilitate mobility after Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council, approved the city’s traffic flow plan.
The initiative intends to increase the use of remote work rules and flexible working hours throughout the emirate in order to strike a balance between corporate productivity and quality of life. To lessen traffic congestion, both the public and private sectors are urged to implement these strategies.
The first survey included 644 businesses with more than 320,000 workers, and the second included 12,000 private sector workers.
According to research, 32% of private businesses presently have policies allowing remote work, while 58% of businesses say they are prepared to increase remote employment. Furthermore, 31% of businesses have adopted flexible work schedules, and 66% of those that do not already have the policy in place may do so in the future.
According to the study, allowing employees in the public and private sectors to work remotely four or five days a month and instituting flexible working hours with a two-hour start window can reduce morning peak travel times in Dubai by 30%.
