Transforming Online Presence With Many Purple Hats: Gareth Wax

We recently had the opportunity to interview Gareth Wax, Managing Director at Many Purple Hats, a consulting agency that makes business networking more exciting than ever. Besides being an expert at generating leads, also holds the position of Producer at The Kelly Show.

At Many Purple Hats (MPH), their mission is to grab your ideal client’s attention and make your brand shine. Additionally, their LinkedIn Masterclasses, led by Gareth, provide monthly training sessions that spark meaningful insights.

In this interview, Gareth shares his visions for this sector and highlights the company’s journey.

Advent Of Many Purple Hats

We started the session by asking, “Can you take us through the inception and evolution of your business?”

Well, picture that I’m sitting in a room full of hats and banging an air drum kit when suddenly it hits me – LinkedIn needs more pizzazz. Many Purple Hats Ltd. was born from a desire to make business networking as colourful and unique as my hat collection. We started as a tiny operation in the UK and Indonesia, with just me and my trusty wingman, Anggara.

As we grew, we realised Cyprus was calling our name – probably because it rhymes with ‘inspired us.’ So we expanded there, and now we’re a three-base wonder, spreading the gospel of eye-catching LinkedIn profiles and leads that are warmer than a dragon’s breath!” Gareth excitedly shared.

Embracing Innovation

In today’s digital age, integrating emerging technologies is vital for business success. To learn more on this from Gareth Wax, we inquired, “How do you integrate emerging technologies into your business strategy?”

Gareth Wax replied, “We’re like magpies when it comes to shiny new tech – always on the lookout for the next big thing. We use Claude for creating content structures, but we let our human copywriters fill in the blanks. It’s like we’re building the ultimate D&D campaign where AI is the masterful Dungeon Master, guiding creativity.

Our podcasts and live streams are the battlegrounds where technology meets artistry. We constantly push the boundaries of audio and video, we want our clients shine – uniquely, boldly, and memorably.”

Redefining Business Landscape With AI

Eager to understand the perspective Gareth holds for AI and its potential, we asked, “What potential do you see for artificial intelligence in shaping the future of your industry?”

Gareth Wax responded, “AI in our industry is like adding a mage to your party – it’s got huge potential, but you’ve got to use it wisely. We see AI as a powerful tool for analyzing trends, optimising content strategies, and even predicting what kind of content will catch fire with different audiences. While we harness AI’s power, we prioritise the human touch because some what seems to be missing online is soul! You wouldn’t want AI writing your favorite pop lyrics, would you?”

Business Growth Strategy

Effective decision-making is the backbone of successful businesses. So, we asked, “How do you approach strategic decision-making to ensure the sustainability and growth of your business?”

Our approach is a bit like planning a campaign. We start with a clear objective, usually client satisfaction, then we map out different scenarios and potential outcomes. We’re always ready to roll with the punches and adapt our strategy on the fly. We make sure our team is balanced – we’ve got our creatives, our analytical wizards, and a charismatic face-of-the-company or two” Gareth Wax stated.

Triumphs Of Many Purple Hats

We further asked, “What has been your most significant achievement in your entrepreneurial journey?”

On an enthusiastic note, Gareth Wax shared, “Our biggest achievement has been building a company that embraces neurodiversity and turns it into a superpower. We’ve created a space where being obsessive isn’t just okay, it’s celebrated.

Our ability to hyperfocus on clients’ needs and come up with out-of-the-box solutions has set us apart in the industry. Plus, we’ve managed to make LinkedIn promotions fun, which is like turning homework into a video game. Finally, my 13-member team keeps telling me how much they like coming to work – and we measure our overall success by team and client happiness.”

Fostering Collaborative Culture

Innovation and teamwork are the keys to business success. To learn how Gareth Wax employs this approach in his company, we asked, “How do you cultivate a culture of innovation and collaboration within your team?”

Gareth Wax responded, “We’ve turned our office into a giant playground for the mind. We have brainstorming sessions that look more like improv comedy shows. We encourage everyone to bring their quirks and special interests to the table.

Got a thing for vintage typewriters? Great, let’s see how we can incorporate that into our next campaign. We believe that when people feel free to be themselves, innovation flows like a well-oiled drum solo.”

Staying Ahead Of The Curve

The future of business belongs to those who can adapt and innovate. We asked, “How do you adapt your business to the rapidly changing market demands and consumer preferences?”

We treat market trends like we treat new album releases – we’re always eager to give them a spin. We keep our ears to the ground and stay tuned to what our clients and their audiences are vibing with. Our podcast and livestream formats allow us to quickly pivot and explore new topics or formats. If something’s not working, we’re not afraid to hit the stop button and try a new track.” Gareth Wax revealed.

Adaptability Amidst Uncertainties

We asked, “Can you share an instance where you had to pivot your business strategy to address new challenges?”

Gareth Wax shared, “When the pandemic hit, it was like someone flipped our game board upside down. We had to quickly shift from in-person networking events to fully digital experiences. We turned this challenge into an opportunity by doubling down on our virtual offerings. We created ‘LinkedIn Live’ events that felt more like late-night talk shows than boring business seminars. It was a hit. Our clients got to showcase their expertise while also revealing their pet cats and questionable wallpaper choices.”

Plans We Asked Gareth Wax

To learn more about the plans and visions Gareth Wax has set for his business, we asked, “What are your upcoming plans or projects that you are particularly excited about?”

Gareth Wax shared, “We’re cooking up something that’s got me more excited than finding a mint-condition copy of a rare film. We’re developing an AR (Augmented Reality) feature for LinkedIn profiles. Imagine pointing your phone at someone’s profile picture and seeing a holographic version of them giving their elevator pitch. It’s like Pokémon GO meets networking. We’re calling it ‘LinkedInception;’ while the legal team is still working on clearing that name.”

Words Of Wisdom For Beginners

Addressing the beginners, we asked, “What guidance would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to make an impact in your industry?”

First off, don’t be afraid to wear your purple hat. Embrace what makes you unique and turn it into your strength. Secondly, always be ready to adapt – the business world changes faster than a chameleon in a disco.

Lastly, remember that at the end of the day, we’re all just humans trying to connect with other humans. Whether you’re using AI, AR, or a good old-fashioned handshake, keep it authentic. Oh, and maybe learn to play the drums – it’s great for stress relief and impromptu office parties.” Gareth Wax concluded.
