More than 4.2 million passengers arrived at Sharjah Airport in the first quarter of 2024, with 26,473 flight movements and more than 42,000 tonnes of cargo transported. These accomplishments strengthen the airport’s regional standing by offering a superior travel experience and raising the caliber of services it provides to clients, which benefits the emirate of Sharjah’s tourism and economic growth.
The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) chairman, Ali Salim Al Midfa, confirmed that the airport’s first-quarter 2024 passenger statistics indicate a rise in traveler volume, growing at about 10% over the same period the previous year. This shows the efforts made by the SAA and other organizations that use the airport to elevate Sharjah Airport’s pioneering role in offering everyone cutting-edge services and a safe travel experience.
Al Midfa further emphasized that Sharjah Airport’s qualitative leap on several fronts is the result of an ambitious long-term plan carried out in collaboration with key partners from the public and private sectors, supporting its competitiveness and leadership by improving operational performance and offering services at the highest levels possible globally. This is happening concurrently with the ongoing development of technical systems, infrastructure, and facilities as well as the application of clever solutions to keep improving travel processes and making them more effective and efficient.
